Stalling
Stall assignments will be made on a first-come, first-served basis, with preference given to show sponsors. Stalls will be approximately 8'x10' on hard-packed dirt. A limit of 3 alpacas per stall. Hay and straw CANNOT be used for bedding. Stall mats are recommended. However, because all animals will be shorn, bedding may be less of a concern than in a full fleece show.

- These prices apply to stalls for animals and farm displays.
Check-in & Check-out
Check-in will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday May 7, 2010, and must be completed by 6 p.m. Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI), microchip and BVD checks will be done at the same time in the exhibitor's trailer. Do not unload alpacas until these checks have been completed.
Once these steps have been completed, proceed to your the show ring to turn in copies of CVI's and pick-up show packet. Once your packet has been picked up, you may move into your stalls.
Check-out will be at the completion of the halter show. OUT OF CONSIDERATION FOR OTHER EXHIBITORS, VENDORS, AND THE PUBLIC WHO HAVE COME TO VISIT YOUR ALPACAS, PLEASE DO NOT PLAN TO TEAR DOWN BEFORE THE SHOW IS COMPLETED.
Trailer Parking
Free parking for trailers is available at the show site, but must be in designated areas, outside the fence that surrounds the immediate area of the show barn and pavilion. This designated area will be marked at the time of your arrival.
Composite Show
Composite Shows involve the judging of fleece and animal conformation in two separate stages. Alpacas are evaluated on a 50/50 fleece and conformation basis in a combined fleece and shorn halter class.
- Fleeces are judged using fleece show rules using the ABSOLUTE fleece scoring system.
- Alpacas are judged conformationally using the COMPARITIVE judging system.
Points are awarded in both the fleece and shorn halter classes according to class placings, one point for first, two point for second and so forth. The points from each class are then totaled and the alpacas are ranked with the alpaca having the lowest point total winning the class. In the event of a tie, the animal with the best fleece score ranking shall receive the higher placing.
All fleeces must be mailed-in to the show and received by no later than Monday, May 3, 2010.
This will allow for judging of fleece to take place even before exhibitors check their animals into the show on Friday, May 7, 2010 and will also allow the halter show to begin on Saturday morning.
- Fleeces should be skirted and sent to the show in individual clear plastic bags with a completed fleece tag enclosed in the bag and visible to the outside of the bag.
- Fleece should be displayed with the cut side out and be from the most recent shearing, in this case the shearing done in 2010.
- While fleeces MUST be mailed in, they will NOT be mailed back. You must take your fleeces with you when you leave the show at its conclusion.
